Green transition

On 14 July 2021, the European Commission adopted the climate package “FIT FOR 55%”in order to make EU policies suitable for achieving the intended objectives for the Green Deal by the end of 2030.

In particular, the Green Deal provides the reduction of net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% compared to 1990 levels by 2030, that is the first step to achieve Carbon Neutrality in 2050.

Villani’s steps to pursue the “fit for 55%” will be: “

✅ Energy saving in buildings: investments to limit leakage, reduction of the internal temperature of the premises and minimisation of waste are just a few examples.

✅ Reduction of emissions by investing in the installation of photovoltaic and/or solar panels for the production of energy from renewable sources.

✅ Progressive reduction of CO2 emissions of our vehicle fleet with the goal of reaching “zero emissions” in 2035 by purchasing electric vehicles, methane, hydrogen or otherwise powered by any reliable alternative source proposed by the road transport market.

✅ In our properties we planted 30 fruit trees with the aim of raising awareness other people to counteract the climate crisis, reducing the greenhouse effect resulting from human emissions.

✅ We avoid unnecessary travel but we make smart trips, using the Car Pooling with our electric company car, to share the trip home/ work with the aim of reducing both emissions and the cost of transport, in the sustainable mobility.

✅ We are creating a common space within the company to be exploited individually or in groups with the aim of providing our staff what they need (fitness area, recreational courses) directly in the workplace, obtaining a double benefit: more free time and fewer road trips.

✅ We have also created a parking dedicated to the charging of electric vehicles that can be used by both internal staff and our stakeholders because we are pleased to share our company choices.

✅ We are also implementing a Welfare package to reward in particular those employees who decide to go to the workplace with environmental vehicle.
